How Can This Tenet Help You?
As you can see, each step of my life may not have seemed like much at the time, but when you put the entire journey together, it’s not too shabby. The same holds true for your life’s path. As I tell my clients, things can change in a second. Each step helps us to move forward and survive pitfalls—even the loves lost, the divorces, the deaths, and the illnesses. But no one can convince me that life is one long, agonizing, painful journey unless a particular individual chooses to put rocks in their own shoes.
The whole of the journey is the legacy we leave behind. After all, when I started so many years ago, they didn’t know whether to bless me or burn me, but if your motive is truly to purely help and you’re sincere in your soul, people will see it.
Look at the entirety of your life—not just the cracks and flaws, but each step you’ve taken. Of course you have your themes and your blocks to overcome—even if you try to hide from them, they’ll circle around until you face them and scale that mountain of self. Now it’s one thing to plod along a dusty old road as you fulfill your destiny, and it’s another to be on a superhighway that goes along with speed and ease. So try, if you can, to find a road that has rest stops, eating places, and nice hotels—in other words, one in which God is present—it will still get you to the same place, but it will be much more comfortable.
Also, keep in mind that you’ve had many lives, and in each one you’ve learned a different facet of yourself. I’ve never talked much about my lives, but I’ll cover a few here to show you how they build on each other.
I had a life in Kenya, which is probably why I love that country so much. I carried water, cooked for the tribe, and died early. I had a life in Austria where I wanted children but couldn’t have them, and my husband left me. I had a life as an empress in Asia in which I lasted 27 days before I was poisoned. I had a life as a wife of a Crusader; he died, and I went on to teach Gnosis. There are 54 of these lives, but what comes through many of them is the will to help— in the lives that I didn’t assist others, I wasn’t happy. I’ve seemed (as we all have) to have taken steps to be better: I’ve fallen and gotten up, just as you have at one time or another.
We can take detours, but we always live our charts and our destiny. We are what we are and what we’re meant to be. We all end up taking the steps we must complete to finish our journey. It takes time, and it’s quite a journey, but you’re perfecting by the sheer fact that you come here to Earth in the first place.
